The
Lake
Brunner Country Motel is set on 10 acres of
landscaped grounds, borders a native forest reserve.
The complex has 7 self-contained timber
cottages, a warm and relaxing ambience, laid out in a village style setting. On site are a
hot spa pool, BBQ area, petanque court, children's
swings, chip & putt golf and plenty of wide open
spaces for ball games etc.
The cottages can each sleep up to 6 people with various
bedding arrangements, wonderful for families or groups
and very peaceful for couples.
Each cottage has a large veranda and decking to sit out
on and relax after a fun-filled day. Watch the vivid
red sunset disappear behind the native trees, listen
to the birds as they roost for the night, and hear the
"Morepork" (native owl) as he comes to life
in the evening.
Part of the property offers a most magnificent view of
Lake Brunner and the Arnold River, with surrounding
rain forest and mountains as a classic backdrop.
Wake up each morning to peace and privacy, hear the
native bird song and see the very tame Weka's
(flightless birds, similar to the Kiwi) going about
their business and feeding their young around the
property.
The lake and surrounding rivers and streams have some
of the best brown trout fishing in the South Island,
with year round fishing in the lake and some rivers.
There are many walks in the native rain forests nearby
for all levels of fitness.
